Description

When people are incarcerated, they are often without any information or help when they are released. The SIT program is an organization dedicated to providing that information to those individuals while they are incarcerated so that when they are released, they have an even better chance of successfully reentering society. We assist others in finding out the valuable information that they lack, such as: parole offices, probation offices, Social Security Offices, Food, Clothing, Shelter, or any other agency or organization they might need. We provide addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, hours of operation, and the items they will need upon arrival. We are even a go between for inmates and these organizations when there is no other source of contact.

SIT, Inc. now accepts hygiene items, stationary items, and undergarnments or shoes for the men at Phillips Transitional Center in Buford, GA year round. There are approximately 8-15 men admitted into the center each week. It is the goal of SIT, Inc. to provide hygiene bags to each of these men.

Governor Nathan Deal has made reentry a priority and it is the intent of the Sit Program, Inc. to work in alignment with the governor’s office in an effort to reinforce and support this initiative.
